I never really told anyone this, but driving completely terrified me. To me, actually getting my license was more of a far-off dream than anything remotely accomplishable. Getting behind a steering wheel felt like fighting Goliath *without* a slingshot…

But as I started working through the learner’s course, Jerome’s jokes and metaphors made me laugh almost as much as I was studying, and in a strange way, made me more comfortable with the road along with being very helpful for memorizing and understanding the material. I passed my first time just as they guaranteed, only lost 2 or 3 points in total.

The driving lessons with Brandon were also a very accommodating experience, with plenty of laughs in between the learning, with no decrease in discipline or education received. Brandon helped me a lot with all the fundamental principles behind driving, and always noticed where my hiccups and weak points are. In the week before my driver’s test, there were multiple reschedulings from both my side and Coskey’s. Brenda is however an incredibly diligent admin-lady, and she managed to make sure I get all the lessons I still needed before the test. I even had the privilege of Jerome taking me for a lesson, which was an experience by itself, and I learned a lot from him in those two hours. On the test day, Brandon was very helpful and supportive with getting me 100% on track with everything. I ended up passing with my first try, which was a massive relief and cause for celebration back home. Brandon even helped the office with their paperwork in order to make sure I get my license papers that same day without needing to go back again. In the end, Coskeys taught me that all you need to do to beat that giant is apply what you’ve learnt, and only focus on that. Everything else doesn’t matter, whether someone is furiously hooting at you, the instructor is harsh, the weather is terrible or your head is hurting from too many energy drinks, all you need to do is everything that they have taught you, and that giant will fall one way or another. From the bottom of my heart, thank you all so much. Regardless of whether or not this is a job you get paid for, you made a massive difference in my life and the people around me, and I’ll always be grateful for the effort you all put into making sure I succeed. I’ll be thinking of Jerome’s dating metaphors every time I see my license from now on. I wish you all the best!
